East Timor Skype #9

The person who we are skyping is one of our Skypers' sister. They celebrate birthdays by throwing parties, and some get presents, but many just get hugs and kisses. Some popular holidays are All Saints Day, and a ton more. They eat a ton of rice since they live in Asia. Some restaurants serve rice because they think the customer won't get full without it. She moved to East Timor to join the Peace Corps. Now she teaches scuba diving and she guides people how to dive. She sometimes takes the customers on trips, and they dive there. Her job is to show the customers all the cool things about what is underwater in East Timor. Get this, she is a former Lamar student!!! East Timor is the size of Connecticut!! East Timor is really hot. When it is a wet reason, it rains A LOT!! People in East Timor some have small phones, but most have old flip-phones. They have a lot of cats that populate the area, and they have a variety of fauna, like jungles and mangroves. They have very small houses, as there is not much space. They have a big water tub in the middle of the diving shop that they use to clean. A normal diving tank weighs 17 kg (37.5 lbs)! She can literally walk ACROSS THE STREET to get to the ocean! They grow their own coffee, so they get fresh coffee from the mountains any time of day! It can take up to an hour to get ready! When she was in the Peace Corps, she lived in a small community, with no shopping center, so they had to drive 3 hours to Dili the capital city!
