Elephant Sanctuary Skype#23

Skype#23 is a different type of Skype. We went on a tour to The Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, Tennessee. This Elephant Sanctuary is a very important habitat for endangered elephants, especially the African and Asian elephants. Elephants have a lot of interesting facts about them. Their molars weight about 10lbs, and their widely cracked skin absorbs mud and water to cool the elephants down. Asian elephants eat 200-300lbs of food each day that is primarily full of nutrient pellets that keep them healthy and can help them live up to 70 years old.

They pick up the elephants on trucks from different places.  It's a very hard process to get the elephants to stand up after they had sat down. You can watch a live view from the sanctuary about the elephants. It is hard to recover from floods and natural disasters because elephants are big animals. When it's raining the elephants don't mind being in the rain if it is warm. They have a barn for the elephants. Elephants can come and go from the barn whenever they want. Each elephant takes a different time to adapt to the sanctuary. Some elephants get nervous and anxious. That is the end of our wonderful presentation about The Elephant Sanctuary.
